Ironman St.George, Utah!

If the minutes from the December 4, 2008 St George, Utah City Council are correct, the newest Ironman race will take place the first Saturday of May in St. George, Utah for at least 5 years.

According to the city council minutes:

"Consider approval of a memorandum of understanding to provide services relating to the IronMan Triathlon.

City Manager Gary Esplin recommended approval of the agreement in the amount of $12,500. A final agreement has not been reached, but staff feels good enough about it to recommend approval subject to final review by the legal department.

Kevin Lewis, representing the Convention & Visitors Bureau, advised that St. George would receive $8 to $10 million dollars in economic impact each year from the event.

The agreement is for five years. The event will be held the first Saturday of May each year and is also being sponsored by Washington County and the Utah Sports Commission."

President Obama's first challenge

What's up with all of these appointed Democrats not paying their taxes? What a joke! We elect them to spend our money. They tell us we need to pay more and they don't even pay their fair share.

That's it, I'm a Democrat now. Does that mean that I can cheat on my taxes? I guess this all part of the Change. I sure hope President Obama can find enough honest Democrats to fill his cabinet. Looks like this is his first real challenge.

While watching the Presidential inauguration I could not believe the racial prayer at the end by the Rev Joseph Lowery. For those of you that missed it here was the end:

"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen.

What? When black will not be asked to sit in back??????? Yellow will be mellow???? What does that mean? When the red man can get ahead??? White will embrace what is right????? A black man was just elected to the highest office in the country and this was the closing prayer.

And I thought it was a day of celebration! Unbelievable!
