A dark day

Today was a bad day for our family. Jason has taken a turn for the worse. We had a care meeting today. Things have gone down hill in regards to Jason's condition. For the last two weeks the doctors have been trying to remove the fluid that is accumulating on Jason's brain. The fluid has continued to accumualte even though a shunt was installed. It has caused the ventricles in his brain to grow. He is also fighting several infections.

We were told that Jason would never be able to care for himself. It would be a miracle if he could recognize people and have any kind of normal life. It would take surgery after surgery to even give him this slim chance. And even with the miracle he would require 24 hour constant care. He would require a feeding tube and suctioning of his lungs and face of life of fighting infection after infection. We were told to think of Jason and what his wishes would be if he were here to make this choice. It was obvious what we needed to do and were in agreement. Jason is suffering. So it is in the Lords hands and we will continue to pray for Jason and leave the outcome to him. Now is not a time to be selfish, now is the time to honor what we feel Jason would want. No matter how difficult it is for all of us.

Cool Shwag!

Zipp sent me a bunch of cool stuff for rushing there Tour De France labels out so fast. Pretty awesome to think that our labels are on the bikes at the tour again this year. I'm still a Lance fan.

4th of July

It was a rainy rainy fourth of July. We all went to Church and then home to watch the rain. Jason had a sudden surgery to put a shunt in his head . He had been sleeping the last two days and there was a lot of fluid on his head. I was down to see him in the morning and he was non responsive. We has supper with my parents at Famous Dave's and then went to see Jason. He was awake and doing much better. We stopped to visit with Lynzi and the girls. Leslie and her girls are staying with Lynzi and it was a pretty crazy house. It was nice to see them having fun but they miss there dad and my heart goes out to them
