Morris Challenge 2010

Me- 31:45

Lance- 27:54

Jayde- 30:43

All in all it was a very very hectic day. There was a huge storm the night before the race and there were sticks all over the road. We had to delay the start 30 minutes to get them cleaned up. My running sucked! Jayde had a hard time breathing and Lance did awesome! Runs 27 minutes with no training. Ramona had by far the hardest time of the day. This may be the last year. It's just to much for one person. Are most reliable volunteers were working the Y bike race and Dwain showed up an hour later than he was supposed to. He was the head of the volunteers so it was a real mess. I felt so bad for Ramona as she works so hard for this.

The turnout was pretty good. We had about 90 registered and about 20 or so no shows with the weather. I'm sure we also lost some same day registration with the weather. It was thundering right up until seven. The family picnic followed and that was another story. Another story for another day.

The Dales in the Dells

Jayde being Jayde. Loves the Diet Coke

Today we loaded up the family truckster and headed to the Dells. Jayde's friend Samantha from EFY is staying with us and had never been to the Dells. The weather was great and the lines were short so it was a great day to be in the Dells. Once again we dedided on Noahs Ark followed by are traditional stop at Uno's for supper. And yes, of course we can't forget the outlet mall. Can we? Please? NO! Jayde scored a Coach purse that she claimes is the deal of a life time. Yea right, whatever.

End of the season track banquet!

Jayde had a great end of the year banquet. She was awared what I thing are the two best awards that you can win. She was the Holmen Sportsman Confrence Award winner! And the Viking Award winner. The Viking award is the award given out by the coaches to what they feel is the most dedicated athlete. Now what can be better than the most dedicated and the best sport? I thought she should have won these last year. Jayde runs what ever she is asked to run. Others pick and choose there events. She has run events from the 100 to the 800 and runs the 400. The 400 is an event that everyone hates! Hates because it's a hard event to run. Jayde hates it as well but still runs it. Great job and Great Season Jayde!

Lance's Birthday!

Lance turned 28 today! We all went to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate. All except Alisha who was at work, Pepa who is vacationing in Arizona and of course Jason. We had a great time!

Jason is having surgery in the morning to remove some fluid from his head. This fluid is putting pressure on his brain and causing him to become very tired. If the fluid does not come back they will put in a shunt next Thursday. So all of this means that the soonest that he would move to a rehab unit is two weeks. Of course everything changes by the hour so who knows. Jason continues to make baby steps. Doctors are hoping that by removing this fluid he will become more awake. We are all hoping that Jason becomes awake enough to remain at Gunderson for his therapy. He needs to be able to follow commands and stay alert for three hours a day to stay. Were saying are prayers and crossing are fingers.

Disc Golfing! It's a family thing!

Jayde's aching back!

Jayde woke up with severe back pain today. So bad she could barely get out of bed. Jayde has scoliosis and has back pain from time to time. This was the worst that I have seen it. Good thing that track is over and done for the year. We took Jayde to the doctor and they recommended a chiropractor. Can you believe it? We took her to see Doctor Julie and she was doing a little better last night.

We went to see Jason last night. Jason was having a better day but is still classified as being in a coma. There seamed to be more life in his eyes today. We are still working to try and get Jason in to Bethesda rehab center in St.Paul. They are reviewing his case and will let us know there answer in the next two weeks. Some time line when your already a nervous wreck. I don't know how Lynzi holds it all together. It is taking it's toll on her and everyday is getting harder. Jason responds to some people some of the time but not on a consistent basis. Until he starts following the doctors commands he can not participate in therapy at Gunderson. We pray every day for a miracle.
